| At the beginning of the 1960s, the Carol featured many new ideas for a minicar. These included: 1) so-called "cliff-cut" styling where a portion of the rear window is cut inwards; 2) 4-doors, which was unusual for a small car of this type; and 3) advanced technology such as the first Japanese application of torsion bars for both the front and rear suspension springs, an aluminum alloy engine, alfin brakes, and so on. |
