This is a rare car specially developed for use by the royal family and only a few were produced. It was developed as Japan's first VIP limousine based on a concept of creating a domestically produced vehicle at the pinnacle of the automotive world.
The V8 6373 cc engine was newly developed. Dual brake and fuel systems were provided to guarantee safety and reliability. The aim was to employ as many Japanese-made parts as possible, but issues related to reliability and the development period meant that a GM-made automatic transmission had to be used. It was released after the merger between the Prince Motor Company and Nissan in 1966. |
