| The first automotive 4-stroke direct injection diesel engine developed in Japan. In the mid 1960s, as expressways developed and industrial economic structures changed, the running distances of large trucks and buses were on the increase. Thus, demands for reliable and economic engines also increased. To meet the demands, the D920 direct injection type diesel engine was developed, and it triggered the subsequent trend of direct injection diesel engines for trucks and buses. |
