| Model | : | EBS (Electronically Controlled Brake System) |
| Familiar name | : | EBS (Electronically Controlled Brake System) |
| Technical applications | : | Improvement of braking performance and braking operation performance |
| Applied model | : | Heavy duty trucks |
| Year manufactured | : | 1997 |
| Application year | : | 1997 |
| Designed by | : | Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd. |
| Collaboration | : | Wabco |
| Device structure | : | The system consists of the following parts: brake valves with built-in stroke sensors that detect the brake pedal operation amount, a control unit that controls the valves etc. based on various information, a proportional relay valve (front axle) that controls the brake pressure of each wheel, a trailer control valve, a rear axle brake pressure and acceleration modulator that performs ABS pressure control, an ABS modulator valve that performs ABS pressure control for the front axle, a solenoid relay valve that operates when EBS is not in operation, and wheel speed sensors/pulse wheels that detect the wheel speed |

| Display portion | : | - |
| Performance function | : | A stroke sensor is built into the brake valve and a circuit that transforms the driver's brake operation into an electric signal is added to the conventional two air systems. The braking force requested by the driver (deceleration speed) is calculated by the computer and each valve is electronically controlled. |
| Effect | : | By electrically controlling the brake signal system, brake response improves, which can reduce the braking distance. The control unit optimizes the braking force distribution of the front axle, rear axle, and trailer (combination vehicle). The operability of empty and laden vehicles is made identical by controlling the vehicle deceleration speed corresponding to the brake pedal angle, thereby also improving the braking feeling. |
| Points of interest, topicality | : | The system was adopted in cargo trucks in 1997, and tractors in 1998 for the first time in Japan. |
| Features | : | The EBS includes the functions of ABS (anti-brake system) as well as ASR (anti-slip regulation) and covers all safety devices related to the brakes. |
