| Great effort was invested in a new generation diesel engine: the inline 6 cylinder 13C model. The world's first combination of an electronically controlled pulse EGR and a highly efficient cool EGR enables a combined EGR to further reduce NOx. Impressively high torque is achieved from the low rotation region at idling, creating an engine capable of generating maximum torque at 1,100 r.p.m. This ensures extremely smooth startability and strong dynamic performance even with early up-shifts at 900-1,100 r.p.m. in manual transmission vehicles to improve fuel efficiency. Hino's Pro-Shift transmission achieves outstanding fuel economy by enabling the truck to be driven at all times at the optimal r.p.m. (the so-called "green zone"). |

| Points of interest, topicality | : | Development of this truck aimed to reduce mass using actual vehicle tests, computer analysis and simulation technology. The result was a class-leading lightweight chassis. Other mass reduction features include an aluminum transmission case and air tanks. Construction was also significantly improved by a class-leading PTO with a maximum capacity of 120 kgm. Meticulous design improved loading efficiency, which was also boosted by further development of the short cab concept. |

| Features | : | The short cab enabled the creation of Japan's first heavy-duty truck with internal dimensions of more than 10 m, by removing the bed space portion of the cab and effective use of the cargo area. By revising the structure of the internal lateral dimensions, the Hino Profia LOBOX is able to carry 18 1,200 mm x 1,000 mm built-in. In addition, the low floor 4-axle (FW type) van structure achieves an internal capacity of 65 m³. The loading efficiency for pallet and light bulk transportation was significantly improved. |

| Vehicle introduction | : | This is the representative Hino Profia model and uses a new type E13C turbo intercooler engine. In response to customer needs, the bed space has been removed and a cargo bay with internal dimensions of at least 10 m or more was created. Some models are designed for comfort with a bed-equipped high-roof cab. | |
