| The TX80, which went into production in November, 1946, was a 5-ton gasoline truck developed to meet the demand for industrial recovery after the war, and it was widely praised for its power, comfort, and economy. Its sister vehicle, the TX61 diesel truck, went into production in October, 1947, and together these two models launched the era of the famous Isuzu TX trucks that dominated the post-war market for 5 to 6-ton trucks. The preserved vehicle is a TX80 5-ton gasoline truck built in 1947. It was fully restored in 1997 and is now maintained in full operating order at the Isuzu Service Center in Kawaguchi. |
