| The INVECS-II aimed to achieve low fuel consumption and quietness as the world's first 5-speed automatic transmission for front engine front wheel drive vehicles. It introduced new neural networks for optimal shift timing control as well as a learning control to adjust to different drivers. It also featured a sports mode developed to emulate the operation of a manual transmission, to suit driver preference.
