[Outline] This was the world's first full range electronically-controlled automatic transmission with 5 forward speeds. [Details] This transmission allowed powerful and very smooth driving by finely selecting shift characteristics, gear positions, etc. according to the throttle opening angle and vehicle speed using microcomputers built in the A/T control unit. Moreover, the system allowed three running patterns to be selected by a mode switch, including one that emulated a 5-speed manual transmission. With these functions, various running states could be handled. It also contained a fail-safe function, self-diagnostic function, and function for communicating with the CONSULT electronic system diagnostic tester. This speeded up diagnostic operations for improving serviceability. [Setting] Model setting |
